God's peace to you, from Pastor Ed Robbins of Zion Lutheran Church I am Pastor Ed, here at Zion Lutheran Church since December 5, 2003. Our Pastor's Page has been under construction as I am "new" to web paging and because I have intentionally put my energies and my focus to other matters, meeting folks in the congregation, getting to know our neighbors, preaching, worship leadership, visitation to those in hospitals, and working with the people to Zion to strengthen our mission on behalf of the Lord Jesus Christ. Zion is my third call. I was ordained in 1990, a "second career" pastor. Before beginning my seminary journey in 1986 at Gettysburg Theological Seminary I worked as a social worker. I have an MSW as well as an MDiv degree. I graduated from Thiel College in 1968, served in the US Army with a 13 month tour in Viet Nam as a radio operator with an engineer unit, and the spent a number of years working in social work: child welfare, community mental health, and drug and alcohol. My wife Barbara and I have one daughter, Mary Ann, soon to be married. Barb and I live in eastern York. We love to garden. In addition to forming new friendships here in southern York County we have friends and family in western Pennsylvania with whom we enjoy visiting. My hobbies include fishing (I love fish stories!), reading, cooking, driving, watching movies, walking, and exercising. My primary purpose in life is to serve God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as an ordained pastor. I love the work God has given me to do, and I love to listen to people. I am a man with a great curiosity and a good sense of humor who understands much about people, their joys and their struggles. I hope to meet you someday, whether in person at worship (Sunday morning at 9 AM), in the office at church, by phone (717-235-3276), or by e-mail (pastored@nfdc.net). If you ever need me to keep you in prayer, contact me, and I will do that!
IN CHRIST, Pastor Ed (as one of my former parishioners, Cathy A., a teenager says, "the funny little man")
