Snow and ice keep crews busy

The first real snowfall came through the greater Shrewsbury area today, causing the road to become icy. Crews from Station 61 were busy responding to car accidents as a result of the icy roads. Working fire in Hopewell Township

At approximately 09:40 hours this morning a first alarm assignment was dispatched to a reported kitchen fire on Oakwood Drive in Hopewell Township. Enroute, York County fire dispatch advised Chief 54 (Eureka Fire Co. Chief Walker) a firefighter on location had heavy smoke coming from the mobile home. At 23:01hrs, Station 61 was dispatched to Interstate 83 south bound for a possible tractor trailer fire. York Co.
