Are you AWARE that the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, a federal regulatory agency, has rated pollution in southern York County's nine interstate streams for the past 10 years and that two of these have been found to be contaminated by leachate, wastewater and/or raw sewage? (York Sunday News, August 9, 1998)

Are you AWARE that Ebaughs Creek, the creek that would be used to fill the reservoir (catch-basin) has rated poorly in the Susquehanna River Basin Commission study for the 8th year? According to the study the creek has high levels of chloride and calcium and a low water quality, suggesting that wastewater discharges from the Stewartstown sewage treatment facility and leachate from the York County Solid Waste and Refuse Authority landfill affect the water quality and the biological community. (York Sunday News, August 9, 1998)

Are you AWARE that the Susquehanna River Basin Commission report was a surprise to David England, Stewartstown Water and Sewer Authority Chairman? However, he admitted that discharge is killing water fleas in the stream, but he doesn't know how long the problem has existed. (York Sunday News, August 9, 1998)
