US HELP YOU STRETCH YOUR FOOD BUDGET EACH MONTH
Would
you like to pay less than half price for groceries? Well,
you can. Pine Grove Presbyterian Church has been a host
site for Angel Food Ministries since October 2007. This
is a non-profit food distribution program. We know how
tough it is now to make ends meet each month. Angel Food
is a great way to help do this.
Each
month a different menu is offered for the cost of $30.
The retail value of the food is between $60 and $70. Each
"SIGNATURE BOX" menu is made up of restaurant-quality
food; consisting of 15 - 17 items with lots of meats,
veggies, and pantry staples. Angel Food Ministries estimates
that one "SIGNATURE BOX" of food assists in
feeding a family of four for about one week, or a single
senior citizen for almost a month.
ANGEL
FOOD IN TRANSITION
Following
the August Distribution on Saturday August 21, 2010, we
will celebrate the transfer of our community's Angel Food
Ministry to the Delta-Peach Bottom Community Center. Our
leadership---Bev Crowl, Rose Smith, Deb Burk, and Brad
Knaub will assist in a period of transition as Matt and
Judy Sherman of Delta form a new leadership team. All
volunteers are still welcomed and needed. The
master delivery now arrives at the Port Deposit location
where our leadership team is mentoring those leaders.
We praise God for supplying the needs of people in our
region and for the privilege of facilitating this ministry
at Pine Grove and numerous new location start-ups over
the last three years. Angel Food Ministries continues
to offer updated menus including convenience meals (for
Seniors and others), low prices, and quality produce.
