Emergency Operations Plan
An Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) was adopted by East Hopewell Township on June 4, 2003. The purpose of this plan is to prescribe those activities to be taken by the
Township and other community officials to protect the lives and property of the
citizens in the event of a natural, technological, or terrorism emergency or disaster
and to satisfy the requirements of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management
Services Code, (35 Pa. C.S. Section 7101 et seq.), as amended, to have a disaster
emergency management plan for the municipality.
According to a county wide Hazard Vulnerability Analysis East Hopewell Township is most vulnerable to:
- Fire
- Flood
- Blizzard/ Ice Storm
- Hurricane
- Tornado
- Earthquake
- Explosion (building or vehicle)
- Drought
- Terrorist Attack
- Nuclear Incident (Peach Bottom, Three Mile Island)
The EOP strives to define action steps to be taked during a time of emergency, and to assign responsibilities to the leadership of the township.
