Trash Collection

East Hopewell Township Board of Supervisors is pleased to announce that we have entered into a municipal waste contract with York Waste Disposal for exclusive/voluntary trash collection. The contract will begin on January 1, 2010 and includes the following:

• Collection of trash 1 time per week on Wednesday
• Recycling 1 time per week on Wednesday
• One bulk item per week on Wednesday (ex. –appliances, furniture, mattress)
• Cost for residential customers for the years 2010 and 2011 will be $252.00 per year
• Low Volume Option is available—Pay-per-bag or pay-per-tag cost is $4.25 per bag/tag
• A 96 gallon mobile trash container will be provided by York Waste Disposal at no extra charge
• Recycle bins will be provided by the Township and delivered by York Waste Disposal
• Additional recycle bins will be available at the Township Office

In previous years, a bulk trash collection event was held in April. As the new agreement allows residents to put out a large trash item every Wednesday, the bulk trash collection day will no longer be offered.
